Ringette doesn't stop after high school. University Ringette offers girls a chance to continue playing and an opportunity at post-secondary sport scholarships.

1. University of Alberta Ringette Scholarship
To ensure that excellence in both ringette and academics is achieved by the players of the U of A Ringette Team, a comprehensive scholarship and awards program, totaling $15,000, is available exclusively to the U of A Ringette players. As the U of A Ringette program continues to grow and expand in the years to come, so will the scholarships and awards program. The U of A Ringette Team is recognized as a leader in the sport of ringette in Canada and is proud to be able to assist its players in achieving excellence in both ringette and their post secondary educations. 2. Ringette Alberta Scholarship
Ringette Alberta will award four scholarships of $500 each to athletes who have demonstrated a strong academic performance and a commitment to the sport of ringette through active participation and involvement. 3. Gaudreau Family Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of Paul Gaudreau and his employer, Dow Chemical, another scholarship is available to ringette players in the province. Preference is given to AA players in Zone 5 however if no suitable recipients in that Zone apply, the scholarship will go to a deserving athlete outside the Zone. 4. Agnes Jacks Scholarship
Agnes Jacks Scholarships are named in honor of Mrs. Agnes Jacks who, following the untimely passing of her husband Mr. Sam Jacks (ringette's founder), picked up the gauntlet and became a dedicated and tireless promoter of the sport. Mrs. Jacks is a well known and well loved figure in the ringette community and over the years became known across Canada as ringette's "goodwill ambassador". This program provides a number of scholarships of $1,000 each towards post-secondary education for ringette players, coaches and officials who demonstrate a strong commitment to the sport of ringette. The number of scholarships offered each year is determined by Ringette Canada's Board of Directors. 5. Cara Brown Scholarship
Cara Brown Scholarship, which recognizes and rewards combined performance in elite ringette and scholastics, is awarded to registered ringette players who are actively playing ringette at the elite (AA) level, who are entering a Canadian university on a full-time basis for the first time, and who combine academic excellence with a strong commitment to the sport of ringette. Two annual scholarships of $750.00 each are provided and successful applicants also receive a certificate recognizing their achievements. Cara Brown is a ringette athlete who enjoyed a spectacular career. She played competitively in both Sudbury and Calgary, participated in seventeen Canadian Ringette Championships, served as team captain at the World Ringette Championships in 1990, 1992 and 1994, and participated in the 1998 International Summit Series in Europe. 6. Carol Anne Letheren Leadership and Sport Scholarship
The Canadian Olympic Committee is now accepting applications for the 2005 Carol Anne Letheren Leadership and Sport Scholarship. This is a national, three-year, $1,500 per year, university scholarship awarded to one outstanding female high school graduate. To learn more on how to apply, please visit

7. Stacey Levitt Woman and Sport Scholarship (CAAWS)
The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) invites applications from young women, girls teams and/or qualified sport organizations for this $2,500 scholarship which is shared by five (5) recipients.
